Si è da poco conclusa la cerimonia di premiazione dei BAFTA Games Awards 2017. La giuria della British Academy of Film and Television Arts ha eletto Uncharted 4: Fine di un Ladro come Gioco dell'Anno.

L'evento The Games Awards torna nel 2017 portando con sé alcune novità inedite, come la possibilità di votare i propri giochi preferiti via Facebook Messenger, Google Search e Twitter e la presenza di musicisti che intratterranno gli spettatori con brani tratti dai videogiochi.

 

Ad animare la serata vi saranno "alcuni tra i musicisti rock e d'orchestra più talentuosi al mondo", che insieme ad ospiti speciali eseguiranno musiche dei videogiochi presenti, futuri e passati. Alcuni dei titoli in lizza per i The Games Awards saranno inoltre disponibili a prezzo scontato su PlayStation Store, Xbox Live, Steam e altre piattaforme di distribuzione.

 

Lo spettacolo, che si svolgerà all'interno del Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles, sarà visibile l'8 dicembre 2017 dalle 02:00 - ora italiana - su diversi canali streaming, compresi Facebook, YouTube, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, e Mixer.

E quest'anno, pare, Geoff Keighley farà le cose in grande proponendo "la lineup di world premiere più grande di sempre" per The Game Awards.

"Ho voluto mantenere l'attenzione alta sulle nomination nelle prime battute su The Game Awards", ha spiegato Keighley, conduttore e produttore dell'evento.

"Presto vi dirò di più sulla nostra lineup di world premiere più grande di sempre".

In un tweet successivo, rispondendo ai fan l'host ha precisato che "senza dubbio" si tratterà di giochi della cui esistenza non siamo neppure al corrente ad oggi.

Tenutasi al Bloomsbury Big Top di Londra, l'evento dei Golde Joystick Awards ha insignito The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild con il premio di Gioco dell'Anno. Il titolo Nintendo è subito seguito in classifica da Horizon: Zero Dawn e Persona 5, entrambi disponibili su console Sony.

 

Fra gli altri titoli premiati, troviamo lo stesso Horizon: Zero Dawn per il miglior storytelling (Ashly Burch, doppiatrice di Aloy, ha vinto il premio come Miglior Performance), e Playerunknown‘s Battlegrounds come miglior videogioco multiplayer.

 

Zelda: Breath of the Wild è inoltre il miglior gioco Nintendo (precedendo di una posizione Super Mario Odissey) e vincitore del Critics' Choice Awards.

Il miglior gioco PlayStation è Horizon: Zero Dawn, seguito da NieR: Automata, mentre sul fronte Microsoft troviamo al primo posto Cuphead e al secondo Gears of War 4.

Il gioco più atteso è invece The Last of Us Part II, che riesce a guadagnare più voti di Red Dead Redemption 2 e Death Stranding.

L'edizione dei The Game Awards di quest'annosi è rivelata un grande successo: più di 11 milioni di spettatori.

 

I numeri arrivano da un'intervista fatta dai colleghi di Polygon al suo ideatore e presentatore, Geoff Keighley.

 

Lo show andato in onda la notte dell'8 dicembre è stato seguito in diretta streaming da circa 11.5 milioni di spettatori, risultato triplicato rispetto agli ascolti fatti con l'edizione del 2016.

 

L'ashtag ideato appositamente per lo show è stato il più utilizzato in quella giornata.

 

Insomma, lo show di Geoff Keighley ha fatto il botto, battendo persino la programmazione normale delle TV.

 

Intervistato a riguardo, il giornalista si è detto molto contento del risultato e attualmente è al lavoro per realizzare la prossima edizione, la quale non ha ancora una data precisa.

Nella giornata di oggi l’Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences ha annunciato i candidati ai D.I.C.E. Awards di quest’anno che si svolgeranno il prossimo 22 febbraio a Las Vegas durante il D.I.C.E. Summit 2018.

 

Tra i titolo che raccolgono più nomination spicca Horizon Zero Dawn: il titolo Guerrilla Games si porta a casa ben dieci nomination tra cui quella più prestigiosa per il Gioco dell’Anno. Appena dietro alle avventure della bella Aloy si piazza The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild che riceve ben sei nomination tra cui è compresa, anche qui, quella per il Gioco dell’Anno.

I BAFTA Video Game Awards 2018, i premi britannici rivolti ai migliori videogiochi dei mesi passati, si terranno il prossimo 12 aprile a Londra. Tuttavia, già da oggi, possiamo scoprire le varie nomination.

I The Game Awards rappresentano ormai uno degli appuntamenti più importanti per l'intera industria videoludica. Occasione per celebrare i progressi del settore ed i suoi principali successi, l'evento costituisce anche un'importante vetrina per nuovi annunci e sorprese.

 

L'edizione di quest'anno si preannuncia decisamente ricca, come ci tiene a ricordarci Geoff Keighley, tradizionale presentatore dell'evento, tramite il suo attivissimo account Twitter. Dopo averci confermato la presenza di Hideo Kojima durante la manifestazione, in qualità di componente della giuria per l'assegnazione dello Student Game Award, ed aver stuzzicato i fan di Alien con una serie di indizi in merito al possibile annuncio di un nuovo gioco a lui dedicato, finalmente Keighley ci rivela quando potremo venire a conoscenza delle candidature per le diverse categorie premiate durante i The Game Awards.

 

Tramite un cinguettio, veniamo infatti a sapere che le nomination verranno rese pubbliche il prossimo martedì 13 novembre, alle 9 AM Pacific, corrispondenti alle ore 18:00 italiane. Vi rammentiamo che, negli anni, le categorie premiate sono andate costantemente aumentando: nell'edizione 2017 erano ben trenta! Oltre al premio più ambito, il Game of The Year, ci sarà spazio anche per: Best Art Direction, Best Narrative, Best VR/AR Game, Best Independent Game e moltissimi altri.

Ci avviciniamo ormai a dicembre, e come di consuetudine ecco iniziare le manifestazioni dedicate alle premiazioni dei migliori giochi dell'anno. Oggi è il turno dei Golden Joystick Awards: andiamo dunque a vedere la classifica dei vincitori dell'edizione 2018.

 

Come potete notare dalla classifica, Fortnite, il titolo firmato Epic Games che ha trovato la sua fortuna con la famigerata modalità Battle Royale, è stato eletto come Miglior Gioco dell'Anno. Il free-to-play è sulla cresta dell'onda da ormai svariati mesi, e dopo aver incrementato esponenzialmente gli introiti di Epic Games, gli viene infine riconosciuto un importante merito ludico con questo nuovo premio. Da segnalare i molteplici premi assegnati a God of War di Sony Santa Monica che viene eletto Miglior Gioco PlayStation e si porta a casa i premi per il miglior Storytelling il Milgior Deisgn Grafico. Sorprende in negativo invece Red Dead Redemption 2, che si accontenta del solo Premio per la Scelta della Critica.

Insomma fuffa come tutti gli altri anni non ho giocato gow, ma dubito che abbia una narrazione/storytelling addirittura migliore di rdr2 che al momento setta nuovi standard, sia come open world, che in termini di narrazione stessa... È un film da Oscar.

Si continua a parlare di Alien Blackout, titolo mai annunciato ufficialmente ma oggetto di numerose speculazioni nel weekend, dopo che un insider ha scoperto la presenza di due account Twitter dedicati al gioco...

 

Alien Blackout dovrebbe essere pubblicato dall'etichetta 20th Century Fox e sviluppato da Cold Iron Studios, team fondato nel 2015 da ex dipendenti di Cryptic Studios (City Of Heroes) e interamente posseduto dal publisher. Alcuni rumor riferiscono una possibile presentazione del progetto ai Game Awards del 7 dicembre, tuttavia sembra che Alien Blackout possa essere uno shooter multiplayer online senza legami di alcun tipo con Alien Isolation, non è chiaro se sia presente anche una campagna single player oppure no.

 

Altre voci invece vorrebbero Alien Blackout in uscita su PC, PS4, Xbox One e persino PlayStation 5 e Xbox Scarlett, in quanto Cold Iron Studios sarebbe stato fondato proprio con l'obiettivo di lavorare su progetti per le piattaforme di prossima generazione. Al momento niente di quanto riportato è stato ufficialmente confermato, vi invitiamo dunque a prendere il tutto con le dovute precauzioni
