non e che sbagli qualche indirizzo??

 

Ho controllato e ricontrollato. L'unico dubbio potrebbero essere i DNS, dove io ho indicato l'indirizzo del router e non i dns di alice... approposito: chi li sa?

 

ps:hai gia pensato di ambiare distro in favore di una con un maggior supporto wi-fi??

Ho appena messo ubuntu e già devo pensare a sostituirlo? :mrgreen: Però se sarà l'unica alternativa, perche no? Che distro consigli? e soprattutto come installarla sopra ubuntu?

 

ps:per curisita che scheda wi-fi hai??

Ho appena messo ubuntu e già devo pensare a sostituirlo? :mrgreen: Però se sarà l'unica alternativa, perche no? Che distro consigli? e soprattutto come installarla sopra ubuntu?
uhm come distro con il supporto wi-fi migliore spicca mandriva e gentoo in primis ma gentoo direi che non e per te :mrgreen: quindi direi mandriva o una delle sue sotto distro

io ho dovuto sbattere la testa piu volte (solo con ubuntu) anche se il driver per la mia scheda e reperibille in qualsiasi posto :acc:

no non sbagli la navigazione e piu veloce che su windows

 

con opera ancora di piu e non ciuccia tanta ram quanto firefox

dice che il modem e sincronizzato e quindi non ha dato errori

 

dai un "sudo pppd" e poi un "sudo cat /var/log/messages" postami l'output di questi due comandi

 

 

EDIT: ho scoperto che chip monta il tuo modem e un Conexant Access Runner ho trovato una guida molto semplice e per dapper ma funziona anche con Feisty

Lo sto testando da qualche ora, che dire... mi sembra pieno di roba sto linux qua. Ho provato anche gaim, e l'ho trovato semplice e snello, chattando con un utente che usa msn messenger non mi visulaizza le animoticons e non ho capito se si possano aggiungere emoticons a quelle predefinite (ma chi se ne frega, è solo un vezzo da curiosone...)

 

Per il resto, mi ha visto anche l'hd usb esterno con tanto di cartelle create a suo tempo sotto windows. Il visualizzatore di imamgini è velocillo, devo ancora testare i divx e capire un po' come fare con i codec.

 

Ho spulciato nel thread alla ricerca di info, ma sta diventanto enorme e mi ci son perso. Visto che una sezione dedicata mi sa che ce la scordiamo (magariii... :dance: ), mi tocca fare una domanda forse già anche postata. Non mi è chiaro cos'è Trevino e perchè dovrei installarlo. Domanda idiota, lo so, ma il concetto mi sfugge (in fondo, usavo XP fino a qualche ora fa!!! :mrgreen: )

trevino (persona simpaticissima) ha creato una lista di repository (i mirror dove prendere software attraverso apt-get ) per aggiungere quei repositori devi

 

digitare da console (menu applicazioni--->accessori--->terminale)

saresti l'unico essere che riuscirebbe a installare una persona su linux :mrgreen:

trevino (persona simpaticissima) ha creato una lista di repository (i mirror dove prendere software attraverso apt-get )

 

:rotfl: avevo capito un casso allora? se non lo facessi quindi, non potrei accedere a software altrimenti non visibile? cioè, usando semplicemente synaptics posso scaricare meno pacchetti? (in soldoni e sperando di non aver sparato l'ennesima puttanata :mrgreen: )

 

digitare da console (menu applicazioni--->accessori--->terminale)

cancella tutto il contenuto del file e incolliamo dentro questo

salva ed esci

 

funzia anche su feisty 7.04?

vado a cena e provo,. stasera non esco , sto linux mi sta intrippando! :dance:

Il comando "sudo pppd" mi restituisce sempre la stessa cosa, e cioè "Plugin /usr/lib/pppd/2.4.4/pppoatm.so loaded" mentre il comando "sudo cat /var/log/messages" mi restituisce una lunga lista che non saprei come postarti :mrgreen:

 

Ora provo a seguire la guida che mi hai consigliato, tralasciando i primi passaggi che tanto li ho già fatti.

si esatto attivando questi repo da synaptic hai acesso a molto piu software e molto piu aggiornato

Ho seguito la tua guida ali per l'installazione dei repo di Trevino. Una volta copia incollato il contenuto di sources.list e eseguito la lunga linea di comando, ho notato alcuni problemi su certi server, eccoli qui:

Subito dopo mi è apparsa l'iconcina a diamante rossa che mi avverte che ci sono 27 update di sistema disponibili. Faccio per scaricarmeli e appare una finestra dove si avverte che non tutti gli update possono essere installati, e tra le cause possibili di questo problema indica queste:

- A previous upgrade wich didn't complete

- Unoffical software packages not provided by Ubuntu

- Normal changes of a pre-release version of Ubuntu

 

A questo punto è possibile proseguire con un'installazione parziale, alla fine della quale però è saltato fuori un errore sull'autenticazione dei pacchetti indicati qui sotto:

questo e dato dal fatto che alcuni server sono down quindi se vedi che da qualche server non ricevi niente edita il tuo source.list e metti un cancelletto (#) davanti al server down

nel tab risorse :ok:

 

oppure puoi mettere un applet sul pannello di gnome tasto destro "aggiungi al pannello" e scegli monitor di sistema appena compare click destro sull'applet preferenze e abilita la rete
